چکیده

Abstract The technology of vibratory mixing has been applied to improve the compressive strength cement-stabilized macadam (CSM). aim this study is investigate effect vibration acceleration and cement dosage on unconfined density CSM. mixtures with four dosages (2%, 3%, 4%, 5%) were prepared by conventional (0 g) (1 g, 2 3.5 g). was tested under different methods. And microstructure CSM analyzed scanning electron microscope. results indicate that samples using have higher strengths, lower coefficient variation, denser microstructures, compared compulsory mixing. Compared 15% in mixing, variable less than 10% method. As increase, increases. However, a more significant influence improving With increase every 1% dosage, 7-day average increased 59% 38%, respectively. maximum improvement rate UCS value 20–56.7% when from 0 1 g. Especially high, limited. Besides, reduces original over 1.6% qualified at which recommended construction practice.

The Effect of Geopolymerization on the Unconfined Compressive Strength of Stabilized Fine-grained Soils

This study focuses on evaluating the unconfined compressive strength (UCS) of improved fine-grained soils. A large database of unconfined compressive strength of clayey soil specimens stabilized with fly ash and blast furnace slag based geopolymer were collected and analyzed. Subsequently, using adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system (ANFIS), a model has been developed to assess the UCS of stabi...

Influence of Pore Structure on Compressive Strength of Cement Mortar

This paper describes an experimental investigation into the pore structure of cement mortar using mercury porosimeter. Ordinary Portland cement, manufactured sand, and natural sand were used. The porosity of the manufactured sand mortar is higher than that of natural sand at the same mix proportion; on the contrary, the probable pore size and threshold radius of manufactured sand mortar are fin...

Influence of Curing Time and Water Content on Unconfined Compressive Strength of Sand Stabilized Using Epoxy Resin

Improvement and stabilization of soils are widely used to improve the physical and mechanical properties of sandy soils. Despite the abundance of researchers that have been conducted on this topic to date, most of them have focused on dry soil. The effects of the existing water in the soil and different curing durations (curing environment) have not been investigated. In this study, different p...

the effect of taftan pozzolan on the compressive strength of concrete in the environmental conditions of oman sea (chabahar port)

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...

Compressive strength of Portland cement pastes and mortars containing Cu-Zn nano-ferrite

This study is concerned with the synthesizing of Cu-Zn nano-ferrite particles in the laboratory applying simple techniques. The morphology of the synthesized nano-particles was analyzed using Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), and the minerals were identified using X-ray diffraction (XRD). The nano material was used to replace 1- 4 percent by weight of Portland cement in cement pastes and ...
